I don't understand this trade from Minnesota's perspective. Dadonov is one of the 10 guys he should be keeping and the return is pretty terrible to be honest. You could have shopped him around the league and gotten more. He wasn't even on your trade block.
Minnesota, please explain why you feel this is good value. You are a last place team that should absolutely be selling assets, but the return is probably important as well.

It is rather curious that a decently young 70 point keeper worthy guy (who is on pace to match or exceed those totals this season) who was drafted early in the 1st Round of the Waiver Draft is now being traded for an even lesser asset in a low 2nd Round Entry Pick. The more I look at it there doesn’t really seem to be any justification for this type of deal from Minnesota’s perspective. At MINIMUM Dadonov should fetch a 1st Round Waiver since that was where he was drafted, his situation hasn’t changed, has not fallen off points wise, and has not been injured.

How can you under value a 2nd Round Entry pick like that? The likes of Hart, Debrincat, Suzuki, Necas, Demko, Grubauer to name a few were all selected in the 2nd Round. For your information, not that you even need to know, the trade was accepted well ahead of Minnesota's trade block post but just wasn't posted yet. I don't feel the need that Jacob needs to explain anything and rather that you're just butt hurt because you can't work hard enough to get a deal done. Dadonov is the type of player that really isn't overly talented, rather in a fortunate position on the top line. Is he a good future asset for a young rebuilding team? Hell no! I paid the price for a rental player and a pretty damn high price to boot actually.

Things change a lot over the course of when that draft took place. Also, he is currently on pace for UNDER 70 points but thank you for your oh so valuable opinion great future teller!

I can understand other GM’s frustration in a trade like this, and let me be the first to say no I’m not trying to tank! My selections in the waiver draft this year and prior have under performed and I do regret most of the decisions I’ve made. So, yes, if i had to do the waiver draft over again I would not have select Dadonov. Maybe I should’ve chosen J.T. Miller....a 6th Round Pick, in the first round; but none of us did. The fact of the matter is that this league values youth tremendously over everything else and Dadonov being 30+ years on a young Florida team searching for success tells me he’s the first to boot off that top line.
If my team hadn’t been so plagued by injuries this season I would’ve hoped to be in a lot better of a position than I’m currently in. Who says I didn’t try and shop Dadonov earlier, and other players at that.
All and all, I can understand if this gets taken to a vote. And if vetoed, I can come knocking at your door for a 1st round waiver pick and plus?

Every trade is always base on personal opinion and speculation. So in my personal opinion. Yes, Dadonov is on pace for more goals than last year but does that really help me at this point? Will winning one week after the next put me back in contention? No, it won’t. So the best I can do is sell assets and try again for next year. Hopefully Hughes will actually do something, along with DeBrincat. And hopefully Tarasenko and Hamilton won’t get fucked by surgery. But hey, shit happens.

Dadonov is the type of player that really isn't overly talented, rather in a fortunate position on the top line. Is he a good future asset for a young rebuilding team? Hell no! I paid the price for a rental player and a pretty damn high price to boot actually. It must be really nice over there in that perfect world you live in. Are you seriously suggesting that the majority of 2nd Round Entry Picks are the caliber of the aforementioned players? Get real. For every Hart, Debrincat, Suzuki, Necas, Demko of Grubauer there are 12 Riley Tufte's. The fact of the matter is that Entry Picks are lottery tickets that teams use to draft players who they HOPE will ONE DAY score half as many points as Dadonov in the NHL. NOBODY knows how players will develop. We don't have to guess with Dadonov. He is a 65-70 point guy. We know this from empirical evidence, not from my ability to see the future. Seasons of 65 Points (72 point pace), 70 points, and 40 points in 49 games (67 point pace) tells us this. Anybody can throw out wild speculation to make a terrible trade appear less-lopsided. But the fact remains that there is absolutely nothing to suggest that Dadonov is losing his top-line spot (reference 72, 70, 67 point pace totals from the past 3 seasons). If Hoffman wasn't able to take it, none of these young guys will either. You know why? Because none of them are true wingers. It is becoming more and more clear that you are seemingly (and conveniently) the only individual in the league that values a 2nd Round Entry Pick this high. I sent out offers to every team not currently in the playoffs (excluding Minnesota) an offer for a comparably ranked/points scored/aged player in exchange for my 2nd Round Entry Pick and I was 1. Flat out ignored or 2. Laughed at. These responses tell me that something is wrong with the trade that is being discussed. All and all, I can understand if this gets taken to a vote. And if vetoed, I can come knocking at your door for a 1st round waiver pick and plus? The time to have done that was before you seemingly offered Dadonov to one team and one team only, playing one manager against the other to get maximum value out of your player. Furthermore, Dadonov's value is not dependent on what I am or am not personally willing to pay. Every manager's situation is different. Maybe I don't need a winger. Maybe I am not willing to give up the asset or assets that Dadonov is worth. The point is you didn't NEED to trade Dadonov and it certainly didn't do anything to improve your team. But since you seem to value Entry Picks so highly, how about I give you my 1st Round Entry Pick for a 70 point, almost 30 year old "over-the-hill" Tarasenko as a "rental?" Dadonov (2019): 28 G 42 A 70 P -6 8 PIM 17 PPP 0 SHP 4 GWG 195 SOG Tarasenko (2019): 33 G 35 A 68 P +8 22 PIM 22 PPP 0 SHP 5 GWG 275 SOG Surely bumping up the pick an ENTIRE round makes up for a few +/- and SOG no?

This is such a bad, dumb post, I might reply deeper later but all that really needs to be said is that you yourself gave up total garbage for top players, this year and last. To a guy who I know didn't shop shit. I know Jacob did. You gave up players, at the time, worth way less than a 2nd Round Entry pick. The only people who undervalue 2nd Round Entry picks are those without a clue as to how to see talent before it becomes talent...guys like you. That is a Top 24 pick. The real Florida Panthers would ditch Dadonov in a second for such a valuable future asset. I would have never given up a 2nd Round Entry pick for Dadonov. Dadonov is only slightly better than the shitty Clayton Keller after all.

Tarasenko has proven himself far more than Dadonov has had and is on the best team in the NHL, or at least should’ve been longer than a week this year.

I guess my point is it's very important for rebuilding teams to maximize their trade value. And shopping players around is a great way to do that.
While it's totally optional, I am going to suggest everyone download the Telegram app on their phone should they wish to participate. You can block your phone number, etc. in the privacy settings if needed. Name yourself 'Robyn_Flames' 'Jacob_Wild' etc. I will set up a group chat for everyone to discuss trades, you can then do private messages between managers if needed. The app would only be for trade discussion, the site would remain the official spot for everything. I don't think anyone can argue that an app on your phone will be a significantly easier spot to discuss trade options than the site, I'm just looking to boost participation and discussion.
Let me know when you've set it up and I'll add you to the group if you want.

'Oh, I didn't have sufficient contact abilities and that's why...dat, dah, dat, dah, dah.' There are numerous ways for you to get in contact with your fellow managers and one of those ways, the best way, is through the League's actual, Official, forum or chat.

Tarasenko has proven himself far more than Dadonov has had and is on the best team in the NHL, or at least should’ve been longer than a week this year. It is largely irrelevant who you feel is more “proven.” The facts are that Dadonov has more points than Tarasenko over the course of the previous two seasons combined. That’s not even including this current one. We don’t win weeks based on name value, we win weeks based on accumulation of stats. 70 points is 70 points regardless of who is scoring them. At a certain point something ceases to be a trend and must be acknowledged as the norm. I think 2-3 seasons is a large enough sample size to satisfy that criteria. If Tarasenko is worth more than a 1st Round Entry than Dadonov is certainly worth more than a 2nd Round Entry. Anyone that feels otherwise, step up to the plate and trade me ANY 70 point player (last year) 31 years old or younger currently on your roster for my 2nd Round Entry. Literally any player. You pick. Takers?

You guys are really in need of extra scrubby talent huh? If that is indeed the case you have no chance against me anyway bud-dy. Keep your highly valuable pick and get better at recognizing talent before it becomes talent. I'm the kinda guy who has his roster maxed out and needs to find a way to bring in the Hart's and Merzlikins' and Kubalik's, not add Phil Kessel's and Tomas Hertl's. You call them 'lottery tickets', do you actually think there is no evaluation and analysis that can be applied or something? Do you think any pro scout would actually believe these picks to be 'lotto tickets'? Maybe you could feasibly believe that when you get into the deeper rounds but the 1st Round? Get real. Go take a look at all the great talent that's been acquired with the Top 24 picks in the past 5 drafts, then come back here, apologize, and get better.
