We can draft any players considered prospects in the entry draft. Yes, Seattle did not include him on their keeper list.

Hey I'm confused, I thought Drysdale was Knights/Kraken property? It looks like he was left off the farm team by accident and there is no record of him dropping him. Plus I thought we could only draft from this year's players in this draft? Am I way off base here? Rules allow for the pick to be made - All players drafted in the Entry Draft must meet the eligibility requirements for a prospect. He was left off the roster during keepers making him available to be picked.

Drysdale was lost to waivers in the middle of last season. ☹️

I didn't notice he was left off Seattle's keepers until it was too late, or else I would have messaged Seattle to add him. I have warned other managers of roster violations several times in past few years, and wasn't looking to take advantage here.
Edit -- looks like Seattle has filled us in on what happened.

If Drysdale was lost from the 10 game limit that shouldn’t be the case as the new rule is 25 games on the farm farm and drysdale is only at 24. I was looking at Romanov who was on a farm farm over 10 games and thought he should be lost as I lost Batherson to that rule however I guess it has been changed.
From Derrick - “Upon further investigation, it appears the league voted to implement a new GP limit for players on the farm-farm that I completely forgot even happened. which is why Romanov isn't in violation. After Batherson and a couple others were lost to suspended waivers, the limit was voted by the league to be increased to 25. So that is what should be followed from now on. My apologies, with COVID and the layoff and everything, I forgot to update the rulebook. I have been following the 10 GP limit myself! The thread and dialogue on the topic can he found here.”

maybe lost to waivers is the wrong way to say it. But he had over 10 nhl games on the farm farm team when I submitted keepers and lost him to roster violations.

Well then he shouldn’t be lost according to the new rule

Well then he shouldn’t be lost according to the new rule Give me a minute to sort this out. Don't make any more selections in the Entry Draft until resolved. Thanks.

Man, that's brutal if you were following the written rule of 10 games when submitting Keepers, hence why you kept him off. We have been pretty lackadaisical with that rule this past season as a GM has had players over 25 GP on his farm farm and still didn't lose them. We need to be more diligent in the future for consistency among all GMs.

Yeah he was at 24 games so I left him off my keepers roster due to what I thought was roster violations

I think instead of having the '2013 rules' it's should update each year so 2020, 2021 etc. And give the most recent date changes were made on the title of the rules link. So this year is 2021 rules - Sept 8, 2021. Or whichever the most recent one is. It could be easier to keep track of changes

Drysdale returned to Seattle. There was never a roster violation committed under the new (unwritten) agreed upon rule of 25 GP limit for the farm farm team. It is probably a good idea if we overhaul the rulebook for the 2021-2022 season. Robyn - Flames please make another selection in the Entry Draft. Coal - Kraken please make the necessary roster moves to accommodate your Entry Draft picks.

So was he lost to waivers mid-season or was he a part of the Kraken roster right up until keeper submission deadline, then left off because of the 24 gp?

So was he lost to waivers mid-season or was he a part of the Kraken roster right up until keeper submission deadline, then left off because of the 24 gp? He was on the Kraken roster until keepers were submitted and was left off because Coal was under the impression we were still operating under the 10 GP rule for the farm-farm team. That is my fault, whereas the rulebook should have been updated even if we are all aware of a rule. Coal did not submit a full roster when keepers were due so no competitive advantage was gained. It can reasonably be assumed that his intent was not malicious based on these two things alone.

Ok thanks. Yeah, agreed there was nothing malicious here.
Going forward, we could always consider a new rule that any prospects found to be in roster violation during the season are automatically added to a special list and are available to be picked by any GM at the next entry draft, rather than losing them to general waivers.
I will make my pick shortly.
