Vegas needs to make the necessary roster adjustments per the most recent trade before this pick is official. For the record, I didn't see any issue with the roster space the Golden Knights had. There was one spot available on the Quad City Mallards for Klimchuk and plenty of space on the Golden Knights for Barbashev. Unless you want us to always assign new players to a team, I was under the impression they'd be defaulted wherever there is space and the GM can reassign if need be.

Unless you want us to always assign new players to a team, I was under the impression they'd be defaulted wherever there is space and the GM can reassign if need be. There weren't any available spots on either farm team because of the 2 selections Vegas made in this year's Entry Draft. In fact, Vegas didn't have room to make its most recent selection which put the team in violation, which means it is not able to participate in any league action until the issue(s) is rectified and is subject to penalty/punishment. Per the rulebook: 9) Entry Draft D) Players selected in the Entry Draft will automatically be assigned to your Farm Team. Additionally: 14) Signing Players B) Prior to the conclusion of the current year’s Entry Draft*, no player may be signed to one's main roster or called up from one’s farm team who does not currently have NHL experience. I just wanted to explain the situation so everyone was aware.

Guy, Entry Draft selections are assigned at the conclusion of the Entry Draft, no? No. Hence why I have been re-calling players periodically throughout the draft to accommodate. I don’t add the players to the respective rosters until the conclusion of the draft but it is every Gm’s responsibility to ensure the proper roster sports are available. If that was unclear then I apologize. I realize we have had some turnover in the league and this is the first set of drafts for some so there won’t be any “penalty.” I just wanted to address this issue now so that there isn’t any confusion in the future.

I see, I figured this was too early to be worried about space issues? There's plenty of space now, there's no question of roster violations or anything and you always update the farm teams at the conclusion of the Prospect & Entry Drafts. I notice you keep up with the Waiver Draft though, I thought, because of the dwindling roster space as it would be something of concern at that time. That rule about NHL experience to be recalled to the main roster was put in when we had a FA Prospect Frenzy, that was nullified by the inclusion of the Prospect Draft, which was due to managers recalling a bunch of players to sign extra Prospects and make cuts later. Something that has been worked around anyway as many/most of the Prospects/Minor Leaguers a manager owns have NHL experience. I would definitely understand if there was absolutely no roster spot available for a player but there is plenty of space. I understand wanting managers to be 'on the ball' though, for sure. Or 'on the puck' as it were... Sorry, had to make that bad joke edit.
