Uhh, aren’t Ryan Donato and Anthony Cirelli not part of this years draft class? Donato was selected in 2014 and since played NHL games. Cirelli in 2015 and has played in the NHL as well.

Correct, though any available prospect can be drafted in the Entry Draft. It's typically uncommon but has happened several times.
9) Entry Draft A) The Entry Draft is a three round standard draft (1-12, 1-12. 1-12). B) The order of the Entry Draft will be based on the inverse of the final regular season standings from the previous year (12=1, 1=12) C) All players drafted in the Entry Draft must meet the eligibility requirements for a prospect. D) Players selected in the Entry Draft will automatically be assigned to your Farm Team.

It was my understanding that the 2018 Entry Draft was strictly meant for those drafted in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Any player that didn’t meet that criteria or the requirements to be drafted in the prospect draft would then just be available come the waiver draft.
I don’t want to come off “salty” or unsportsmanlike, but this does kinda seem quite sneaky and a abuse of the rules. However if this is how it’s been done for many years, then so be it. I would like this to be further clarified in the rulebook though.

That may be your preference, and could be a superior route depending on your viewpoint of value within the pool of prospect runoff, however that's not how the rulebook reads. Several players have been claimed this way over the years ( Joel Eriksson Ek, William Nylander, Jacob Trouba). I wouldn't characterize these draft picks as 'sneaky' or an 'abuse of the rules' rather they show a deeper knowledge of the available prospect pool and understanding of the written rules. I totally get that you may feel there was some missed opportunity though and the frustration that comes with that.
