The vote as I see it is and always has been 7-5. Which means the votes are not there for Timo Meier to be moved to your team, which is why he hasn't been. Can you show me the rule that states you need 8-4 majority to win this poll? It only states for trade vetoes and rule changes. This is neither of those things. Why should I be at a disadvantage when I was the one actually following the rules? This is a determining poll that states a question "Who owns Timo Meier?", the votes are a clear majority in my favor therefore I own Timo Meier. Not that I need the 8-4 vote to win this poll...but I do in fact have it. I've reached out to Jeff and he indeed has confirmed he hasn't physically switched his vote yet and I'm sure he will attest to that. Therefore there's no other way to spin it, I own Timo Meier and I'd appreciate him being placed on my team in a prompt manner so I don't miss out on anymore of his games. Thanks.

It clearly states you need 8 of 12 votes to get a decision. The votes are in at 7-5, the poll is over I should keep Meier.

I just edited my selection on the poll. I know it sucks to lose a player especially Timo Meier but rules are rules even if you don’t agree with it. In my opinion there are way too many rules within this league but it’s what we signed up for so we just gotta deal with it and

I'm really confused on a few things here...
1. Derek is the one who created this poll in the first place and literally has been MIA. He has done roster updates and addressed other league queries ahead of dealing with this pressing issue. 2. I find it humorous how Derek voted "no" but was the only other GM besides myself to put in a claim for Meier.
3. The poll has been up for over 2 weeks now meaning it is officially closed, the vote itself has been decided for 9 days now. 4. I've had 18/19 rostered players on my team for 5 days waiting for Timo Meier to be placed on my team, losing out on stats/starts etc (4 games to be exact).
It's gotten to the point where it is literally affecting the league and the standings, every day...every start matters and it is affecting the way I want to shape my team making it extremely difficult, something that should be so cut and dry. Especially when the Trade Deadline is approaching rapidly.
Hey Derrick I hit Anaheim by mistake, any chance you can switch my vote to Vancouver? Thanks I can not physically change your vote but you have voiced your opinion in the thread and the final numbers will be tallied accordingly. Funny how the Commissioner of the league can have an oversight of this magnitude by miscalculating a vote that has such major implications, crazy crazy stuff.
The vote as I see it is and always has been 7-5. Which means the votes are not there for Timo Meier to be moved to your team, which is why he hasn't been. Pardon my French, but what the fuck are we literally waiting for?!?! The vote is 8-4, the league has spoken, it's time to do your part as being the Commissioner already. It's not only embarrassing but, quite frankly, is unacceptable. There really should be a good explanation for this inactivity, I'm on the forum literally every single day, I don't see why the Commissioner of the league can't be as well. If you can set your lines, change waiver dates, make forum edits, etc. then you can surely get to this more pertinent issue as well. What's the problem? If you need any support, I'd be more than happy to help out. I don't mean to come across harsh but this has become very frustrating.

The very first post in this thread was this... Hey Derrick I hit Anaheim by mistake, any chance you can switch my vote to Vancouver? Thanks To which Derrick's response was this... Hey Derrick I hit Anaheim by mistake, any chance you can switch my vote to Vancouver? Thanks I can not physically change your vote but you have voiced your opinion in the thread and the final numbers will be tallied accordingly. 8-4. You in no way should keep Meier. Now, are you just purposely trying to cheat by ignoring facts or are you actually just that aloof? Guy, you fucked up. End of story. Derrick, you've altered the true outcome of the standings by being inactive. The Commissioner of the league needs to be the most active manager. It's a shame you didn't add Jaroslav Halak to Mitch's team automatically when you changed his Waiver date. Mitch missed out on a shutout because of it.

1. Derek is the one who created this poll in the first place and literally has been MIA. He has done roster updates and addressed other league queries ahead of dealing with this pressing issue. You do realize you immediately contradict yourself and disprove your own claim with this statement right? How can I be "MIA" but still do roster updates and address other league queries? Hint: I'm not MIA. 2. I find it humorous how Derek voted "no" but was the only other GM besides myself to put in a claim for Meier. This is irrelevant in every way, shape and form. What is your point other than attempting to yet again set up some sort of 'ad hominem' argument? 4. I've had 18/19 rostered players on my team for 5 days waiting for Timo Meier to be placed on my team, losing out on stats/starts etc (4 games to be exact). This was your choice. It is nobody's fault but your own that you rostered 18/19 players for 5 days. Players can be dropped just as easily as they can be added and you should have done so until when/if Timo Meier was placed on your team. Pardon my French, but what the fuck are we literally waiting for?!?! The vote is 8-4, the league has spoken, it's time to do your part as being the Commissioner already. It's not only embarrassing but, quite frankly, is unacceptable. If you need any support, I'd be more than happy to help out. I don't mean to come across harsh but this has become very frustrating. Once again, I am not inactive. I am on the forum multiple times every single day as you have now pointed out twice. And pardon my french, but who the fuck are you to criticize anyone??? The league does not start and stop and operate at your convenience and your convenience alone. Don't assume everything is going to go exactly how you want it to or that everyone is going to kneel down before you.
But to answer your question, the problem is that I, along with everybody else, was under the assumption that Jeff - Red Wings had changed his vote on February 3rd (or shortly thereafter) after being informed how to do so (while the vote was still in its infancy), which appears did not happen. This is problematic because it taints the outcome of the poll by not giving every subsequent voter complete information on the impact of his vote. For example, an individual who is undecided that sees a poll 1-3 or 0-4 might be influenced in a particular direction based on current votes thinking whoever has the most votes is the "right" choice, or alternatively a person who is voting with selfish interests in mind might not want a certain team to have a player and cast a "catch up vote" or vice versa. There are numerous scenarios that can be presented but they all lead to the same tainted poll results and I have been trying to decide what the best way to handle that result is. At this point, I think there are only two options: Re-vote or throw the poll out entirely. And just to clarify, I voted 'No' (and would have voted 'No" against myself had I won the bid) because I am a firm believer in consistency and the rules being "black and white". Mitch is 100% at fault here and there is no excuse to not correct an error with 3 days advance notice before the claim goes through. However the league has consistently allowed these mistakes to be forgiven (even in the face of the rulebook appearing to say otherwise), erred on the side of not damaging a franchise long term over a "mistake," and have returned players to their original teams. I do not like it, I do not agree with it, but that is what the league has decided and until it is officially and universally changed in the rulebook (hopefully this summer), my vote here must remain consistent with that. More often that not, it takes something outrageous like this to happen before league wide action is taken. Foresight doesn't mean a thing anymore.

Hint: I'm not MIA. I'll be more clear in the future with my wording with you, obviously my point went right over your head. Is negligent a better word? My point is I shouldn't have to be the one to bring up ANYTHING about this "Who Owns Timo Meier" controversy, the Commissioner should step in and make a statement after the 2 week period is passed. 2. I find it humorous how Derek voted "no" but was the only other GM besides myself to put in a claim for Meier. This is irrelevant in every way, shape and form. What is your point other than attempting to yet again set up some sort of 'ad hominem' argument? You had the same intentions as myself and rightfully so. 4. No, you're right...the league starts and stops and operates at your convenience and your convenience alone, even if it's at a turtle's pace, after all, you are the Commissioner. But to answer your question, the problem is that I, along with everybody else, was under the assumption that Jeff - Red Wings had changed his vote on February 3rd (or shortly thereafter) after being informed how to do so (while the vote was still in its infancy), which appears did not happen. There are numerous scenarios that can be presented but they all lead to the same tainted poll results and I have been trying to decide what the best way to handle that result is. At this point, I think there are only two options: Re-vote or throw the poll out entirely. If this is your argument then you should've informed Jeff on Day 1 that he can and should switch his vote immediately. Instead of replying... Hey Derrick I hit Anaheim by mistake, any chance you can switch my vote to Vancouver? Thanks I can not physically change your vote but you have voiced your opinion in the thread and the final numbers will be tallied accordingly. Maybe Jeff thought he completed his due diligence with this matter by informing the Commissioner of his mistake immediately and being informed that it would be tallied accordingly. I don't buy it if your reply to this is "I didn't know you can edit your vote" either, you could've easily tested this like I did with simply unchecking your selection and re-picking. Who's to say that everyone was under the assumption of anything? That's up to the individual to make that call. In this case Jeff's "false vote" would've impacted Mitch's side, in a sense helping his side of the vote. Completely opposite of the examples you brought forward. Also, who's to say you can't switch your vote within the 2 week time period, is that not a thing? At the end of the day, before and after the 2 week voting period was up the vote was 8-4 and remains 8-4. And just to clarify, I voted 'No' (and would have voted 'No" against myself had I won the bid) because I am a firm believer in consistency and the rules being "black and white". Mitch is 100% at fault here and there is no excuse to not correct an error with 3 days advance notice before the claim goes through. If you are a firm believer in the rules being "black and white"...then why did you even create this poll to begin with? I don't get how one of your two options for a solution is to "throw the poll out entirely", what does that even mean...forget any of this happened? If you want to go ahead and make a new poll and prolong Timo Meier from being on my team then go right ahead.

Meier should be on Vancouver the poll went 8-4 in the alotted amount of time. As to when he should be added and Vancouver missing starts.... I feel your pain Daniel but Derrick does us all a huge favour by running the daily ins and outs of these league on his own time. That in itself is greatly appreciated.
Can we please just settle this finally and move on. Meier on Vancouver Dell on Detroit let’s move forward. This doesn’t have to be so difficult.

1. I am not inactive. I am not sure where this false narrative originated but it is getting old very quickly. You are not generally inactive and, in fact, are typically punctual to an extreme. However, with this critical and, currently #1 most impactful, issue you have been inactive. Suspiciously inactive. What did you do when the final vote came in on the 7th and the poll was finalized in favor of Daniel - Canucks getting an 8-4 victory? You did nothing. You can see who votes for who, an added benefit of being the Commissioner, you knew Jeff - Red Wings voted the way he did, you knew which way he voted, Jeff let you know immediately of his mistake, you acknowledged his mistake, you plainly told him his voice would be heard as he intended it. So, 6 days go by of pure inactivity until you're called out for not doing your job and you say this utter toss... The vote as I see it is and always has been 7-5. Which means the votes are not there for Timo Meier to be moved to your team, which is why he hasn't been. You can see Jeff hasn't changed his vote to reflect what his actual thoughts are. You know how he voted. You're plainly told immediately. You know the vote is 8-4. So then why this response? A purposeful hold up? So then Daniel - Canucks responds to you the next day with his concerns wondering why you are awarding the wrongdoer in the case the advantage in the vote to which you completely ignore. Inactive. Then the next day Jeff - Red Wings clears up the controversy with his vote and confirms it by changing the vote to what he had originally intended and further punctuates his stance with a couple of sentences of explanation. Two more days go by, no response, inactive. Daniel - Canucks has to again voice his concerns, a day later you finally respond with more lame excuses and plate spinning. Poll results being an 'influence' on voters now? That's absolutely ridiculous, sad and desperate. An insult to all who voted and the league itself. So Timo Meier should have been on the Vancouver Canucks roster on February 7th, 2019. It is now February 18th, 2019. What impact does this have? Plenty, Anaheim had Meier on his team illegally when he faced off against me this past week costing me several points in the standings causing you, the Senators, to unjustly rise above me in the standings. Daniel - Canucks also now faces you for a big week and what do we have? A needlessly prolonged issue being illegally handled despite the votes being clearly in favor of Daniel - Canucks even with the disadvantage in voting. Two weeks in a row where Derrick - Senators benefits directly from having Meier still illegally on the Anaheim Ducks roster. Inactive. Illegal activities. Negative and unjust impact on the standings. Derrick keeps saying how much he hates this rule but he was the guy to illegally insert the 'rule' into the NAFHL Constitution because he was butt hurt about an outcome not going his way. It was never voted on. 6) Voting Procedures F) Any potential rule change requires 8/12 league members approval (including the acceptance of the Commissioner) Show me the poll that has 8/12 votes for putting in the 'babysitting clause'. It doesn't exist. There was a goalie dispute, one manager thinking it was a Games Started limit rather than a Games Played limit for goalie Prospect & Minor Leaguer eligibility. Derrick was on the losing end of the vote, losing the player he claimed, and then illegally put the clause in the NAFHL Constitution because of this one instance of misunderstanding. Nobody voted for it. Not one single person voted for it. I even deny the clause verbally in my response in the thread. He added it to influence the vote initially and then as 'revenge' on the league for not seeing it his way regardless, changed the rulebook illegally. Let's not change history here, Derrick, you know what you did so enough of the 'I hate it' nonsense, it is 100% on you and is your fault. 2. It is not my responsibility to add ANY player to ANY team under normal circumstances. It's a shame MITCH didn't add Halak to his own team before the league updated. I changed the waiver date at 3:20 PM EST, which would allow just shy of 12 hours to do so. Alternatively, if either of you wanted a direct transfer you could have initiated a trade on Yahoo that would have been immediately processed. I am not a babysitter and I am not going to be 'shamed' over something I do as a nicety. Hey, at least you admit Mitch should have done something, how do you like that? Isn't that something? Still, you probably should have added Halak to his team manually. Why? Well, because Mitch had to wait for you to change the player's Waiver date before he could add him, so when you did that how much more effort would it have taken you to manually add the player to his team so that the trade is processed as quickly and properly as possible? Might have taken you 15 seconds to ensure a legit and processed trade. Furthermore, we couldn't have initiated a trade on Yahoo for faster processing, obviously, because I received draft picks for players. You don't do it as a 'nicety', rather it is expected and is your job as Commissioner of an established Keeper League to process necessary trades promptly if you're able. Anyway, mistakes happen and influence. Asset misjudgments happen and influence. Good/Bad trades happen and influence. Add/Drops happen and influence. That's Fantasy Hockey. It isn't something that can be 100% accounted for, sterilized and/or oppressed to the point of pure boredom. The nature of the beast.

Had Meier not been there it would have been Konecy with 2 PIM and a GWG that was sitting on the bench. Or Stepan +1 or any other FA that could have performed better. Your matchup ended the way it did because your goalies under-performed and Anaheim's excelled, not because of Meier. Also, I find your rhetoric amusing. I "unjustly" rose above you in the standings? You do realize I have beaten you both times we have played each other this season right? You do realize you are 4-5 against other teams that are currently in the playoffs and I am 7-1 right? Or are you going to try to spout off more false claims and try to convince the rest of the these things aren't real either? If anything, you have unjustly been sitting in top position for several weeks while your team has been downward spiraling.

I don't buy it if your reply to this is "I didn't know you can edit your vote" either, you could've easily tested this like I did with simply unchecking your selection and re-picking. Who's to say that everyone was under the assumption of anything? Again, I cannot see which way Jeff - Red Wings voted, only that he has voted. The confusion with editing a vote stems from the fact that the option has not always been there and is a (relatively) new feature. I have personally never had to use, was not overtly made aware of it by proboards, and is kind of difficult to identify if you are not specifically looking for the option. As for people being under the assumption of things, that is the point. We don't know. Maybe they were, maybe they weren't. However, I try to eliminate any form of bias and would like the poll to reflect the true opinion of the league (without influence) because every decision has long lasting and far reaching implications. Again, if you won the bid and would vote 'no' against yourself...why put in a claim in the first place? If you are a firm believer in the rules being "black and white"...then why did you even create this poll to begin with? My point is, "What is the reason for you to even submit a Waiver Claim in the first place if you would vote 'no'?" Just in case in some fantasy world Mitch wanted to drop Timo Meier? C'mon. You had the same intentions as myself and rightfully so. I put in a claim before anything was ever mentioned in Mitch - Ducks farm transactions thread and just never cancelled it. My assumption was that the league would vote to forgive the mistake and return Meier to the Ducks. My intention for submitting the claim, and the purpose for starting this poll, was to set a precedent and highlight a problematic rule in hopes of garnering support for a change in the summer.

I cannot see who votes for who. I can only see who has voted. You continue to make false claims as if they are fact in attempt to further your agenda. Just stop. If I have any agenda it's to have a fair and just league without the Commissioner blocking fair and just votes and polls for his own selfish and misguided reasons and gains. I am also familiar with Proboards, general forum setup and web design. You either don't have the settings correctly structured, are lying or are a retard. Or a combination of these things. Either way, it doesn't matter if you can see who voted for who, that is beside the point as Jeff - Red Wings notified you of his mistake, you acknowledged him and told him his vote would be correctly reflected. Jeff - Red Wings didn't reply to Daniel - Canucks' helpful tidbit and therefore you cannot assume his vote was changed. Jeff - Red Wings even later cleared up the misunderstanding and changed his vote himself despite you breaking a promise made to him and yet, bizarrely, it still wasn't enough for you. So Timo Meier should have been on the Vancouver Canucks roster on February 7th, 2019. It is now February 18th, 2019. What impact does this have? If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...Meier directly impacted Mitch - Ducks' 'success' against me. Meier would directly impact Daniel - Canucks' week against you. Double illegal win for you. I've been in first place all year, all year, not just the last little while pup. Despite two unjust losses, barely losses, to you and going 1-4-1 in the last 6 weeks you're still, still just now catching up and tying me. How were they unjust you ask? Well because you had a significant amount of extra starts vs. me. Something that will be changed in the off-season. There are goalie limits and there will be player limits. My record for situational starts advantage is 5-11-2! That ain't fair. By the way, your team stinks. Sad mishmash of trash. Enjoy. One last thing, it's sad that you pick and choose what to respond to, still haven't said shit about why the wrongdoer has the vote advantage. Haven't said shit about where the 8/12 vote to put in the 'babysitting clause' is on the forum in the first place as it doesn't exist. An illegal addition to the NAFHL Constitution and yet you still spout off garbage about how you hate it and you're the one trying 'to set a precedent and highlight a problematic rule in hopes of garnering support for a change in the summer' as if you're the one being proactive about it. You put it in! Illegally! 'Just stop.'
