Thanks for doing this type of stuff Derrick. But the pre-season yahoo rankings are absurd unfortunately. Martin Marincin is ranked 176 and Josh Morrisey is 178. Also, if you swap Ferland (rank 332) and Brock Nelson (rank 335?!?) for Marcus Johansson (#195) and James Neal (lol) (#235), I would be at ~1850 and #1. And I'm sure every GM can point out some silly rankings on their team that would change their position.
I would love to see some rankings based on last season's roto stats (current rosters) if someone has time for that.

I would love to see some rankings based on last season's roto stats (current rosters) if someone has time for that. There were all kinds of crazy anomalies I came across while doing this that would affect each team in one way or another. At the end of the day no ranking system is going to be perfect Even last season's roto stats for current rosters aren't going to take into account rookies, players who played a partial season, and players who overachieved/underachieved. But regardless, it is fun to speculate and draw inferences from data to start conversation regardless of how "flawed" the system might be. No matter what the system is, one thing I am certain of that will hold universally true is that Toronto got way way better and Washington got way way worse. Which is putting it mildly.
