Hahaha, doesn't matter, he's been eliminated I said! Announcement from the Player/Agent isn't an official source. Neither is any hockey news site/social media/blog/etc. Announcement from the Team or the NHL is an official source. Literally every single person on Earth knows this, alright? That isn't the issue though, the way these wild west signings occur is bush league bullshit. Cheers! I officially award Mitch - Cucks this very fine trophy!

Still waiting on one more slacker to vote to close this poll. Can’t believe Hollywood Mitch - Ducks had the audacity to start Rask after I manually benched him for tonight’s game. Full heel turn for sure brother.

Tuukka Rask is on a conditioning stint with the San Diego Gulls until this is resolved. Nobody pick him up (or start him after he has been manually benched). Thanks.

We need to find a fair way to handle these rare situations. I believe a FA player like Rask upon the announcement from the team of officially signing should go into a 1-3 day waiver window. Just like dropped FA then there would be equal opportunity to claim the player. As well as letting weaker teams have a stronger possibility of improving. I understand there will be flaws in any system but a free for the first guy who sees it and logs in to sign him system creates chaos

Lmao... Wow that is a gutty start.
As far as signings go. I believe official signings are by the team or NHL. Because neither can announce such a thing before its approved by the NHL. Rask's contract could've been rejected. It's happened before. Then that's a crazy scenario.
For how to solve it? I don't mind the free agent in real life, free agent in our league seeing that we're trying to mimic being a real GM. I don't mind chaos to be honest. If we did that, we would have to cross reference time stamps of when signings are announced by the team or nhl happen and the time they are picked up. 1st announcement by either source, fastest fingers win lol. Not terrible to track with twitter, Instagram etc. But hectic. Or do 2 day waivers I guess? If they clear then they become a free agent. I like chaos but understand why some wouldn't haha.
Here's something wild lol. So say Evander Kane gets his contract terminated and waits to sign however many days or even hours with no team. Technically he's a ufa with no contract, should he then be considered a fantasy UFA and able to be signed by any team? Even though Scott - Maple Leafs has stashed him this whole time? Lol.
