No. Draisaitl is the best player in the world. I don't like Fiala or the Kings team. My team doesn't need depth, I have a top team and am looking for top talent because I have great depth. It is the only reason for my team to make a trade. It's a different scenario for a mid-low team who lacks depth but has a top talent. A top talent could be wasted on a mid-low team by the time the team is able to bring itself to the top if they can even do so in time without depth. Depth is integral to success. Younger players are integral to success. High draft picks are integral to success. Talent analysis is integral to success.

Younger players are integral to success. High draft picks are integral to success. Talent analysis is integral to success. Pastrnak is one of the best (fantasy) players in the world. The difference between Draisaitl and Pastrnak is less than two 1st round entry picks so technically I am overpaying. Really interesting that you do a complete 180 and your analysis of an almost identical trade suddenly changes when it is you giving up the "best player." It doesn't matter if you are a contending team or a rebuilding one, Pastrnak is just as valuable to either team. There is no explaining that away with a bunch of contradictory statements that only serve to confuse things. "High draft picks are integral to success" yet 3 1st rounders are insignificant to you? Seems like you might just be trying to justify your inclusion of one in the Pastrnak trade. The fact is, high draft picks are not integral to success at all. I have only made a 1st Round selection in half of the entry drafts since the leagues inception, and have won the championship 5 times. To compensate, I signed Panarin, Fox, Josi, Saros, and Aho as prospects from free agency. You know, BEFORE they became superstars and without fleecing another unsuspecting manager of his assets, like an actually skilled GM would do.

ANYWAY. With that said. You are crazy if you don't take this deal. Fiala is TWO YEARS YOUNGER than Draisaitl. On an UP AND COMING TEAM. Scoring over a POINT PER GAME. And you are getting THREE HIGH DRAFT PICKS that are integral to success.

I don't know how many times the same things need to be said before you actually think critically. I don't like Fiala, period. You're free to like him or think highly of him, more power to you. I said...Depth is integral to success. Younger players are integral to success. High draft picks are integral to success. Talent analysis is integral to success. In combination with each other. Not one or the other or two of them, all of these things. Skill in managing is also multifaceted. Trading is part of the game and part of the challenge. What it boils down to is this, said before and will probably have to be said again...Different teams are in different positions with different ideas of how to build their team in different ways.

I think he is a better fantasy player than Batherson, not only in yearly totals but averages as well. And the stats agree with me! Anyway, that aside. The deal for Draisaitl is still on the table if you want to reconsider. LOOOOOOL
