Just to clarify this was you guys trolling the league right? Like, "Not much going on, and terrible trades were a hot topic this past season let's mess with the league right before the Entry Draft" ...right?" Or am I ACTUALLY expected to process this trade? I didn't even acknowledge it as a post, much less update any rosters because I am not trying to be made of fool of. Just making sure we are all on the same page here. The Team Article was a nice touch though, haha.

😃 I'm curious what your issue is with the trade? Which side do you think is better?

This is the hardest league to get a trade passed . Everyone has a different view on the calber of player according to thier age and health. Commish isnt always correct on his assessments. If I didnt enjoy hockey so much and after last years fiasco (where I was wrong on my assessments)I would leave.

Don't worry Bob, it's actually very difficult to get a trade reversed in this league but it is a bummer for the fun aspect and general morale to have your moves questioned by people who have nothing to do with it. Derrick seems to have not learned his lesson in that regard...unless he's joking around. Also, you weren't wrong last season with your assessments, it'll be fun to watch Batherson eclipse Pastrnak (sans Bergeron) as soon as this upcoming season! As far as this trade goes, I'm sure Derrick is thinking the Canucks are getting a slam dunk for some reason but I believe you have the better side and I even conveyed this to Daniel - Canucks right after he made the trade. It was short term thinking and it could work out nicely for him in the short term but Noah Dobson is easily the best asset involved in this trade. Cole Sillinger had a superstar caliber pedigree but has fallen off a cliff recently but he's still only 20 years old and he could find his game again and with what's going on in Columbus he could be one of the best buy low acquisitions ever. Shane Pinto had a very solid first year and could also be an intriguing breakout candidate. I get it, you went with youth with skill. Erik Karlsson had an unbelievable season last year but before that he wasn't looking very good at all and Daniel - Canucks couldn't trade him for anything, I know, he was talking to me about it and couldn't believe nobody was interested in him...not even me. He was asking for late Waiver picks, a 6th Rounder, nobody wanted him. What a year can do to change perceptions. Karlsson is also 10 years older than Dobson. As far as Zach Hyman, again, before last season he was worth what? A 3rd Round Waiver pick maybe? I wouldn't have picked him with a 3rd. Before last season his 3 best point total seasons were 54, 41 & 40. You could even say that's not rosterable. He's 31. So yeah, I think it was an incredible move by you based on where your team is and shows good long term viability. It could turn out really well for Daniel - Canucks too, based on where his team is but for the short term. My thoughts!

The Team Article was a nice touch though, haha. This has to be in jest... ...but if it is not we need the old Commissioner's philosophy back, but with the current grammar/punctuation would be nice, haha. 😉 trade talks started, i targeted thornton, he targeted what he targeted and this is what became of it. if a league dictates whats "fair" and right for every team you might as well just go through design your own rosters for each team. what if what the league thinks is "fair" doesnt fit into his plans? what if he soesnt want those players? we going to force players upon him now? when i say "him" i dont mean just winnipeg, this goes for everyone who may be or has been in this situation before. my opinions mean just as much as yours do. im not insulting anyone im just saying nobody knows for sure, especially dealing with prospects. value is somehwat in the eye of the trader. neither you nor i can say that semin wont get 90 points and that eaves wont score 35 goals. if those are the players he wants so be it. something definitely needs to be settled before FA signing starts thats for sure. this trade has an impact on how many roster spots both teams will have. 👏👏👏 Bravo!!! Two beautifully written posts.

Care to elaborate on why you believe this is veto worthy?

Elaboraaate! It is a requirement to present factual information to have a valid opinion after all. I'd also be interested to see what you're thinking. You can't see the benefit to both sides? You may not like the trade but is it really veto worthy? What's up with all the veto talk lately anyway? You traded Alexander Semin (Best Season at the Time: 22 Points), Patrick Eaves (Best Season at the Time: 29 Points) & Curtis Sanford (Best Season at the Time: 13 Wins, 2.66 GAA, .908 SV% & 3 SO) for Joe Thornton (Best Season at the Time: 125 Points just the season prior and scored 114 Points the next year and continued his obvious to be elite play for many, many years and he was only 27 years old. I mean...? This is a ho-hum trade. I really don't get it.
