Kind of a random question... but am I the only one that has been surprised by the value people have been putting into waiver picks? Outside of the top 5 overall picks or so, I don't think I have the same high value on them as some people do.
Just my opinion.

I guess the value of the waiver picks depends on the value of the guys to be picked up. In this case I'd say there is about 8-9 real quality players to be picked up...maybe a couple more. So pretty much the only ones I'd give real value too would be 1st rounders....definitely top 5

The waiver draft is far more important than any prospect draft will ever be. you cant win a championship with 10 keepers, i dont care how good you think your team is. There are 30 or more players available who can make a significant impact to ones fantasy team ready for the taking.
in short, if anybody doesnt value their waiver picks ill gladly take them.

I disagree, the prospect draft is far more valuable in my opinion. (this years class less than other classes as well).
I already dealt my 1st two rounds, but all the rest are available.

Well without the Waiver draft i would pretty much be screwed. It's all what you make of it.

The waiver draft is far more important. Besides the top 5 or so picks, no one in the prospect draft is going to make a real difference for 3-4 years. The waiver draft has tons of options, and there are guys that can easily make a keeper list in the first round or two.
Future prospect drafts could be more important than a waiver draft, but not really this year's.

Whatever... I'm wrong then. We can talk at the end of the season when the kid without a pick until Round 3 wins anyways. Even with this years prospect draft being weak, I still like many of the guys better than some players in the waiver draft. Regardless of what draft is more important, my point is I feel people are overvaluing the picks, and I stick to that belief.

I was just saying I thought they were overvalued. Then everyone jumps in saying "Waiver Picks are FAR more important that Prospect Picks".
Ok, whatever, I don't agree...but it doesn't matter, different things have different values to different teams, and I'll take the prospect picks and run my team that way. I also admitted that to me the top 5 overall picks have some significant value, outside of that I think people are overvaluing. That's all I'm saying.
For you waiver pick lovers, the rest of my 07 as well as my 08 and 09 waiver picks are already on the block.

PS jesse's mom prefers waiver picks, too.
