Actually I could pretty well claim half the league's most valuable prospects according to the current state of the farm teams..

My farm teams are up to code. I'm sure the teams in question will be given an opportunity to make the correct adjustments to their roster.

I dont really think its fair for me to play this card is it? Carolina Hurricanes sign following players to the Checkers: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Gabriel Landeskog Ryan Johansen Dmitri Orlov Slava Voynov etc etc etc etc Carolina Hurricanes release [insert number of blue chip prospects] random prospects from the Checkers. I can pretty much see a mass exodus there.

So if it was one owner neglecting his teams I wouldn't really care how anyone feels about me claiming his prospects, but right now it seems the majority of the league have no idea some of their best prospects could get claimed.
So once more: promote the players over 10gp limit in development teams
Derrick should propably give some sort of a grace period for everyone to sort that out.

Yeah, the managers should be up to date with their rosters, I don't really think it would be fair to cut so much talent based on that technicality but I don't blame you for taking initiative. An issued warning and time period to fix these issues would be the best course of action I think. The system is new after all.

An issued warning and time period to fix these issues would be the best course of action I think. The system is new after all. Exactly. I thought it was just one owner having a couple of ineligible players there so I initially thought it would be fair game to place a claim, but after I realised other owners have some of their best prospects unprotected aswell I withdrew the claim. Not much point placing a claim which would propably alienate those owners from the league entirely over a rule that has only been in place for half a season and which is not obviously being followed. To avoid the same situation I think there should be an automatic promotion from the development team to the normal farm team once a player goes over 10 games limit. If there's no room in the normal farm team...then the prospect in question is fair game for anyone to claim.

My roster is up to date. I agree this needs to be addressed. Automatic promotion is a good idea.

Automatic promotion won't work because nearly every team in the league operates at full capacity on both farm teams at all times. In which case it would just become a lot of busy work that would end up in the same result: players in violation becoming free agents and/or being tossed into the summer drafts.
Additionally, "automatic promotion" shifts responsibility from individual managers back to me, and that is something that we have been working to move away from over the past couple seasons.
At this point, I think it is only fair that the standard 2 DAY GRACE PERIOD (same as a waiver claim) be given. However, I understand that some managers may not log in to see this message until tomorrow, the next day, or even after the two-day grace period has ended. Therefore, this ALL TEAMS NEED TO MAKE THE NECESSARY TRANSACTIONS TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION BEFORE THE END OF THIS STATISTICAL WEEK (SUNDAY 2/19).
No more warnings will be issued beyond this first one. Those teams found in subsequent violation will forfeit player/players to free agency and/or the upcoming waiver/entry draft.

Well. Now that everyone has been given a fair reminder about the game limits in the development teams I have no issues with posting the following claim, pending the end of the grace period:
Carolina Hurricanes release Mark Dekanich from the Checkers. Carolina Hurricanes release Taylor Beck from the Checkers.
Carolina Hurricanes sign Adam Larsson to the Checkers. Carolina Hurricanes sign Zach Kassian to the Checkers.
All the of the actions are pending until the grace period issued by the league management is over.
