SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA - The Colorado Avalanche franchise has relocated to San Jose, California and will be under new management.
After only a few months with the club former GM ‘Ben’ stepped down after an altercation said to run throughout the league. An anonymous GM had this to say, “Yeah, apparently he fell down, skinned his knee, and went home crying. It’s an unfortunate circumstance but we’re all trying to get on with our lives.” The resignation threatened to sour the entire league, being so close to the start of the season some would call it irresponsible and selfish.
Without a GM all seemed to be lost, for the franchise, and for the competition of the league. Commissioner Derrick Bettman got on the phone that night with one of his old friends and enticed him to pick up the falling franchise. Another phone call here and there and it was finally a done deal. The new owner of the franchise would be hockey expert ‘Nos’. “It’s great to be a part of this league and the manager of this talented club” he said in a statement.
After much consideration the new GM has decided to pack up and move the franchise to the sunny shores of San Jose, California. “I felt the franchise needed a fresh start, for a new era, and don’t want my players distracted by any of the nonsense that would linger with the situation” said Nos. He continued, “The Colorado Avalanche was Ben’s team and the San Jose Sharks will be mine.” Sure to raise a few eyebrows, Nos is ready and willing, and makes his mark early.
With the team name unveiled in the previous statement, people wonder what’s in store for the San Jose Sharks. “I think we already have a solid contender, I’m looking to make some moves if the right deals come along, feel free to come to me with trade ideas. No player is safe. Other than that I’ll look to upgrade our development system with the Worcester Sharks.” The future looks bright and sunny on the shores of San Jose and the Sharks will be looking to kill.
The Colorado Avalanche franchise didn’t play a single game for the city. The San Jose Sharks start the season in full force October 4, 2006.
