I don't have anything to add to the discussion or the trade itself. It has now become a personal matter about a player who just so happens to be involved in this trade. I am SICK of Patrik Elias being slandered, undervalued, and under appreciated by you yahoo rank, point drooling slaves. This issue must now be addressed.
Two seasons ago Elias totaled 31 power play points.
Last season Elias had 20 goals, EIGHT of them being game winners 8 game winners last season, or 1 in every 10 NHL games, or 1 every other NAFHL week.
2008 Season: 263 shots on goal, or 3.55/Game 2007 Season: 267 shots on goal, or 3.55/Game 2006 Season: 142 shots on goal or 3.7/Game (injured) 2005 Season: 300 shots on goal or 3.6/Game
Career Rating of +163, NEVER logging a minus (full) season in his NHL Career
I could go on and on but in the end this will all prove pointless to childish name calling and circular logic that doesn't really pertain to the point being made.
Gee, a guy who is a lock for 20+ goals, 20 power-play points, 260+ sog (3.5/gm), 4.5 (avg) gwgs/yr, consistently plus+, plays the power-play, penalty kill, winger/center, takes face-offs, and is money in clutch situations sure sounds like he is "washed up" and a "second round waiver at best." And since when is 32 years old, "aging?" (rhetorical).
Patrik Elias is one of the top 5 most underrated fantasy players in the entire league.

Long time no talk. Sorry I havent been "around" on the forums but I have been around. I've had a lot of things goin on, a lot of strands in the dude's head. For the record, I am not dead. Second, the trade isnt that bad but brad could have gotten more. Third, shut up with the fucking veto talk you nazi cows. The veto rule is to only be used when a trade is deemed to be "suspicious." That means that there is some kind of fuckin shinanigans goin on. It is not to be used as a discretionary "I wouldn't do this" trade-killer. Thanks for listening...errr....reading.
