1. Ottawa Senators 40 goals (league best), 100 points (league best), +18, 43 ppp (league best), 300 sogs (league best). Slow start for goalies.
2. Pittsburgh Penguins 31 goals, 80 points, +15, 71 pims, 34 ppp, 270 sogs. NAFHL's most improved offense not worthy of #2 ranking? *crickets chip*
3. San Jose Sharks 24 goals, 70 points, 108 pims (league best), 270 sogs. -9 is a concern, like Ottawa and Pittsburgh, early season goalie woes continue (3.43 gaa, .891 sv%)
4. Columbus Blue Jackets 22 goals, 60 points, +7, 30 ppp, 230 sogs. Still awaiting the return of star RW Marian Hossa. League worst 18 pims is a concern but goalies sharp as always (2.33 gaa, .923 sv%)
5. Calgary Flames 25 goals, 75 points, +22 (league best), 70 pims, 3 shp. 185 sogs is a concern, but goalies have been phenomenal early on (7, 2.39 gaa, .921 sv%, 1 sho). NAFHL's annual sleeper pick.
6.) Buffalo Sabres 30 goals, 70 points, 60 pims, 30 ppp 220 sog. Boasts an eye-popping 20-1-3 record on the season but Toronto and Atlanta aren't elite competition. Had Buffalo drawn Ottawa and Pittsburgh (Calgary's schedule) it would be 8-13-3 instead.
On the bubble:
Boston Bruins
Vancouver Canucks (boasts best goalie stats in the league through two weeks; 8 w, 2.12 gaa, .925 sv%, 1 sho)
