So I tie Pittsburgh, beat Ottawa, I still haven't lost a week this season, and all the while I've had injuries to two of my top offensive players, but I still drop in my rankings? I guess I need to change my team name to the Boston Rodney Dangerfields.

The three teams in question are all jockeying for positions 6,7, and 8. These are the teams i assume you believe you should be ranked higher than. As you can see the offensive stats are very similar, however, there is a glaring difference in the goalie stats. Upon analyzing the situation further, this is not a trend, but a consistency. Vancouver had one of the best goalie tandems in the league last year and that is obviously carrying over to this year. On the other hand, Carey Price has steadily been declining, and this year he has had only one game where he has allowed less than 3 goals (which ultimately lost him his job to Jaroslav Halak). Furthermore, the injury claim is ridiculous, albeit valid. Valid to the point where there are currently over 100 NHL players injured. To believe your team is the only one who has suffered injuries is absurd. Take Vancouver for example, Getzlafs slow start, injuries to Toews, Briere. More notably, look at Buffalo. Kovalchuk on IR, Malkin injured, Andy Mcdonald injured, and so on and so forth. Your teams numbers are not the only teams number who are "deflated by injuries," its a league wide phenomena. Pittsburgh has/had Gaborik DTD, Setoguchi DTD, Giguere IR, Gonchar IR, Filppula IR, Spezza DTD, Rafalski DTD. Your case is mild in comparison, but this is part of the reason both of you (Boston and Pittsburgh) have dropped. Remember, this is based on if the playoffs were to start right now. It's easy to sit back and point the finger, make criticisms, and what have you without objectively looking at the data and predicting likely outcomes. Now, with that said, Im more than willing to listen to why you believe you deserve to be ranked higher, but please don't come to me with that injury nonsense, because none of you are the only individual who is affected.
