Whats wrong with my D and goaltending? I don't know why this post was so funny but it was. Beautiful timing. Anyway, whats wrong with your "D" and goaltending you ask? Nothing at all. I copied and pasted the outline from Power Rankings #1 into this thread and switched the orders around when it was necessary. I noticed the typo/error after I was done, but decided to leave it to see if anybody would notice/care. Hopefully somebody somewhere got a decent laugh.

Oh man, I need to log in more. This stuff is hilarious.
PS I love how my team finds ways to lose almost each week. I guess I can see where my ranking is at, but I'd just argue that my team should be at least written in green considering Hossa is back from IR, Savard is healing up, and I have Elliot, Anisimov, & Karlsson on the farm if I feel the need for any call ups.

... What happened Derr? ;D Not only did I beat you (#1 ranked team) but I did it with injuries to Zach Parise, Jordan Staal, Vincent Lecavalier and Rick Nash. If that weren't enough you also had several extra skater starts. BOO YA!!! It's good to be a Shark.

You mean besides me moving up a spot in the rankings and you remaining in 10th?
Weeks 1-4 SJ Combined Goal Totals: 45 Week 5 Goal Total: 21
Week 1-4 Combined SJ Goalie Totals: 10w 2.66, .912% Week 5 Goalie Total: 4w, 1.82, .941%
Any dope can see "what happened." You had your best overall statistical week this season BY FAR and still managed to only win by one empty net goal scored against my players, while losing points in 3 categories on the final night. This shouldn't exactly be a boost in confidence whereas in an extended match up (Championship Week) your inconsistent team wouldn't have the stamina to go the distance (as evidenced by last years final and 2 early exits at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2 years prior to that).

Derr, you got embarrassed, end of story. Four major injuries and you still lost the week. Any 'dope' can see why I've had a poor start. Those extra skater starts put you over for some of those close categories. My cold start is clearly apparent by this week's showing, despite key injuries. You didn't even beat me in the playoffs last year. It was tied 6-6 and I had the goals tie breaker, but for some reason the rules were changed to include the regular season record into the playoffs as the tie breaker. Lucky you. That was the first year they did that.
Take your lumps like a man, you got taken to school with a depleted roster, with a full roster it would be the Sharks with the rape.

A depleted roster huh? You must be on some sort of narcotic.
Brodeur was injured forcing me to call up Enroth to make goalie starts due to the uncertain nature of his return/Bobrovsky starting.
Joe Thornton was suspended 2 games.
Dion Phaneuf injured.
Everyone has injuries. We can sit all day and argue semantics, injuries, this and that, but facts are facts. Your argument this entire time to anything relevant has been based in nothing more than feeling. If you anticipate your team averaging 21 goals a week (483 total or anywhere close) you are delusional. That only happens if every skater on your team scores 30 goals (D included). You had 6 such players last year, only 2 of which scored more than 40, and one of those players is now IR listed. The point is, a one week explosion is not evident of anything or a justification for a cold start. If anything, it is a sign of inconsistency until proven otherwise.
Team A scoring:
Week 1: 13 goals Week 2: 9 goals Week 3: 9 goals Week 4: 13 goals Week 5: 21 goals Week 6: 5 goals Week 7: 10 goals Week 8: 0 goals Week 9: 5 goals Week 10: 21 goals
...would probably be near the top of the league in goals scored, but that does nothing but guarantee a chance at playing for the consolation bracket championship if the team is 2-8 due to inconsistency.
With that said, I don't know what "lumps" you are talking about. I moved up in the standings by grabbing several points out of the match up. At the end of the season, that is all that matters, points, not who won more categories during a 7 day snippet in Week 5.
...and I would hardly call Jordan Staal a "major injury."

We're counting suspensions now? Add Burns into my injuries then. Dion Phaneuf is such a stellar player with his 4 points and -6, he would have helped out a lot. This doesn't even begin to compare to the hardships my team has gone through early. Point is, despite all that, I beat you. It's not an excuse, how could it be? I won...it's a reality.
Anyway, I'm exhausted from this back and forth, absolutely exhausted. If you don't want to give my team credit that's fine. You have a great team, even a dope like me can see that. Good luck the rest of the way Derr.

I am...astounded. Brutal, brutal stuff. For the second straight week I would have beaten you Derr, 7-3 but instead I lost 9-2. I am severely depressed. Dead last in the league, week 7, dead last. Wow... Time for some ice cream guys. Seriously...

Nos, since I demolished your team 9-2 this week, can I be included in the argument for top team?

Just a quick update after the 11 game mark for those of you not keeping track.. The above reference was after the 4-5 game mark versus Luongo's 11-12 game statistics. Here are the adjusted totals.
Roberto Luongo: 12 GP, 2.63 GAA, .914 SV% Roberto Luongo: 16 GP, 2.88 GAA, .907 SV% Ondrej Pavelec: 11 GP, 1.93 GAA, .939 SV%
Notes:
Pavelec SV% under .900 just one time compared to Luongo who has been sub .900 EIGHT times.
Pavelec has allowed more than 3 goals just once this season (shootout loss to Chicago) while Luongo has allowed 4 or more in FIVE (1/3) of his games started.
Yep. Things havent changed. Pavelec still plays for the Thrashers. But if he can achieve these numbers on an inadequate basement dwelling team like the Thrashers (21 PTS/21 GP), imagine what he could do on such an awesome powerhouse, best team in the league, team like the Vancouver Canucks! (23 PTS/ 20 GP)
Are you seriously trying to revive this thread after you just lost another week and now sit in dead last? You must be glutton for punishment. Hilarious.

Woah, butt hurt that I mentioned I would have beaten you again? Come on, I was just illustrating how snake bitten I've been with matchups thus far. I'll be the first to admit Luongo has been awful to start the season, but that's par for the course. The Canucks haven't played like the 'best team in the league' yet at all, I'm also sore about that. Pavelec has played well, but he's only played 8 full games thus far, the sample size is still too small, if he can sustain that I'll be truly impressed because I don't see Luongo continuing with this awful play...at least I hope he doesn't. I don't think I need to bring Brodeur's play into the mix here either, you know...you know. Dead last and you can't even show some sympathy. Nos, since I demolished your team 9-2 this week, can I be included in the argument for top team? Absolutely, in fact your team impresses me a lot more than Derr's and your team is dealing with significant injuries as well. Well done.
