To Anaheim: Evgeni Nabokov
To Ottawa: *Future Considerations
*Currently assessing Nabokov's market value based on popular media sources and/or other fantasy leagues/trades being made. No "future consideration" will be processed without NAFHL vote, or a panel of trade review members vote since I (Ottawa) am involved in the trade with a NAFHL controlled team (Anaheim).

At first glance I saw nothing wrong with the proposed transaction, it would be you giving up Nabokov to a struggling team for nothing but after re-reading it you seem to want something in return after 'assessing' his value among media outlets. Since he's worthless I don't see what you could demand that would be considered fair value. He isn't going to play this year, he's a future thought. So I'd vote 'no', this isn't a trade that should be made.

So I'd vote 'no', this isn't a trade that should be made. Nabokov's value would be assessed at the time of the original post, not at the future date when the trade would be officially processed. The obvious reason for a trade is to bypass the waiver system in case a GM did decide to put in a claim before Anaheim. I don't even want anything in return, I will give Nabokov to Anaheim for free. But at the time of transaction, I thought that would be even more questionable than "future considerations."

It would be a tad questionable still but the preferred option as far as I'm concerned. Since Anaheim is struggling, in last place, and Nabokov's value is slight at best anyway, I wouldn't really have a problem with him going to Anaheim for free. Others might feel differently, especially other struggling clubs but Nabokov isn't really a piece to covet for any team in my opinion. At least within his current predicament.

Furthermore, I'm not really a fan of this 'wait and see' approach. This just gives you the extra roster spot that Nabokov occupies sooner than you should receive it. Make the trade or don't, find somebody to deal with or drop him, etc. Basically you still own Nabokov without having to use a roster spot to keep him because a trade is 'pending'. If you can't find somebody to deal with other than the other team you occupy that should tell you all you need to know about Nabokov's value.

I already processed the trade. I guess all that needs to be specified now is that "future considerations" equals "nothing."
So...
To Anaheim:
Evgeni Nabokov
To Ottawa:
Ottawa accepts.

Sounds good to me, I like the more defined approach. Now if anybody has issue with this it can be brought up but I doubt it.

The previous posts summed up my feelings and coincidentally resolved any issue I had.
