On February 28th, Calgary released Lee Stempniak at 7:32 PM. Subsequently, Calgary then placed a (higher) waiver request for Ryan O'Reilly on Yahoo using the empty slot that was available on the roster due to the release of Stempniak, prior to accepting the Kunitz/Cammalleri for Pavelski trade. After accepting the Kunitz/Cammalleri for Pavelski trade on the forum, it was accepted on the Yahoo forum (and pushed through) later that night at 10:53 PM before Calgary could adjust the waiver claim, and before Ryan O'Reilly's waiver period ended that morning at 3:00 AM EST. As a result of the trade being pushed through (per the request of the Winnipeg Jets), the Calgary Flames waiver request was erroneously denied due to a technical error in Yahoo's system/the early processing of the trade, and Ryan O'Reilly was awarded to the next highest bidder (San Jose). Evidence below. imgur.com/gIMFSJJAs promised, I have presented the case to the league and will await feedback.

Evidence below. imgur.com/gIMFSJJAs the trade went through a day earlier than expected, the resulting roster spot for O'Reilly was taken and he was lost to another GM. Ryan O'Reilly should be property of the Calgary Flames and my waiver priority would now be #12.

LOL Tough luck pal, that's how things shook out and were processed, if certain individuals weren't 'aware' of consequences for certain movements those are the breaks, you should have made sure/trades shouldn't be 'pushed through' and processed if you're unsure of certain outcomes, etc. Bottom line, my claim was successful, I've since made roster adjustments and it affects how the week/season plays out. To disrupt that is being dishonest to the entire NAFHL.
Kind of getting sick of all the crying at this point.

I'm not sure why you're trying to make it sound like a Yahoo 'error', come on. You pushed the trade through early like you usually do (there's no reason to not push a trade through, the trade was made, get on with it, that's the beauty of having an active Commish), Calgary had a full roster which is why the O'Reilly claim couldn't be processed unless Robyn made a subsequent roster move after completing the trade. He did not do this, therefore O'Reilly is rightfully my property. It doesn't even matter how much time had passed, 4+ hours is plenty though, which is what the timeline suggests, Robyn made a trade that included an extra roster player and he should have known he had to make a subsequent move.

So what you're saying is I should have known the trade request would be pushed through a day early and planned accordingly? Your claim was only successful because of actions taken by other GMs that falsely denied my waiver claim. I did everything right on Yahoo and couldn't have predicted any other outcome. If the situation was reversed, there's no doubt you'd take the same position as me.

You should know Derrick pushes trades through as soon as they're accepted (if he's able to) as he should because now you own 2 players instead of just 1, you had ample time to make a subsequent move as well, you did everything right on Yahoo except make room for your waiver claim, my waiver claim was successful, yours was not, you were at maximum roster capacity after making that trade. Bottom line. Also, no, I wouldn't take the same erroneous position as you nor would I act in such a pathetic, desperate way. I'm honestly embarrassed for you.

Saddens me to even see this thread produced. Could not wait for this signing any longer, dropped him, two days later he signs. Patience is a fantasy hockey virtue. Lesson learned.

Nos you admit that it isn't always the case that Derrick pushes through the trades as sometimes he doesn't get to them. In this case I don't see how Calgary should be punished they should get O'Reilly.

In this case I don't see how Calgary should be punished they should get O'Reilly. Nobody is being 'punished', Calgary made a trade after putting his waiver claim in, this trade put Calgary at his roster limit, after said trade Robyn was required to make an additional roster move to accommodate the signing of Ryan O'Reilly. No move was made, no roster spot was available for O'Reilly to occupy which resulted in a failed waiver claim. My claim was successful and legal. [/quote] Markus' crying was done much in the way that yours is being done "I followed all the rules to a T and now I may lose out on the player?" The failed waiver claim was because the trade went through earlier than expected as you can't plan for the unexpected push through of a trade how can you make the necessary move to get you back under the roster limit?

You can make an additional roster move the moment you make the trade and are at roster capacity once more. After a trade I'm sure each manager wants those players ASAP unless they're trying to unjustly maximize starts. Bottom line, you've made a trade, accommodate your players and make the necessary adjustments. Chris, you voted in favor of Markus but against me in a similar manner (or so you say), I wonder why that is? Flip flopping is a favorite past time of many members here it would seem.

This is my bad for asking trade to be pushed. I did think it wouldn't go through until Friday. Calgary should have rights to retain O'Reilly and make proper roster adjustment.

I'm voting for Calgary here because the player was only available to you because of a trade being pushed through earlier than expected.

Was a trade made? Was Robyn unaware that he made a trade? Was Robyn aware Derrick typically pushes trades through? Was Robyn aware Tyler wanted the trade pushed through 'early'? Was Robyn at roster capacity?

Was Robyn at roster capacity? Typically (as in not always) or as in there is absolutely no way that Robyn could know that the trade would go through earlier than noted by Yahoo. And therefore was not able to make appropriate moves to get under the roster limit.

He could make a different transaction rather than with the empty slot that was now occupied. Not sure why you're being so obtuse about it. Anyone else? Thanks to those that read and responded. What a kiss ass you are. Throw up a poll, unless there's an 8/12 majority vote in your favor I'm keeping O'Reilly.

If it wasn't for the picture of the failed waiver claim, I would've sided w Nos. It appears that an effort in good faith was made into claiming O'Reilly by Calgary. Clearly, the empty roster space was being "held" for the waiver pickup, not the recent 2-for-1 trade. However, outstanding circumstances outside of his control (Derrick pushing the trade through earlier than expected after request by Tyler) prevented Robyn from getting the player. I think Calgary made a legit waiver claim on O'Reilly... sorry Nos :/

By the powers vested in me, I hereby award Ryan O'Reilly to Nos.
8/12 votes in a poll needed to reverse the decision should the league feel differently.
