I guess there really isn't any easy way to do this. I promise to keep it brief.
After nearly 7 years to this day, I have decided to step down as league commissioner, and as a result, fold the North American Fantasy Hockey League at the conclusion of this year's playoffs. "Real-life" has finally caught up with me and fantasy sports no longer remain a priority. Constant bickering and league politics have taken their toll, and have sucked the fun out of something I once loved.
I would like to personally thank each and every GM, past and present for their time, effort, and dedication in making this league the best fantasy league that has ever existed. Without their contributions, it would not have been possible.
As a tribute to the league, I would like to use thread, not to mourn, but to reflect on some of the most memorable (and perhaps not so memorable) moments in NAFHL history.

Took you long enough to get the message. Hopefully you don't let the door smack you in the butt on your way out! I guess when I win the championship this year, it will mean that I'll be able to hold the title of "champ" indefinitely!  |

Some 'favorite moments'... 01. San Jose Sharks winning a record 3 Championships and counting. 02. Derrick not actually winning any Championships. (Ties are for Father's Day) 03. Mark streaming players to win his Championship, Shady-Mark clause added to the rulebook because of it. 04. Brad's incessant whining, thinking the Commish is out to get him, also love how bad his team is this year despite having a solid foundation. 05. Brad's suckitude this season effectively giving me MacKinnon/Drouin/Jones. 06. Markus whining about the Holland/Pirri/3rd for Vrbata trade. 07. This classic: To Washington: Dany Heatley Niklas Backstrom (G) Michael Grabner To Ottawa: Anze Kopitar Pekka Rinne 2011 1st Round Waiver 08. This beauty by Derrick acting as GM of the Ducks: To Boston: Jordan Eberle Tyler Seguin Patrik Berglund To Anahem: Daniel Sedin 2012 2nd Round Entry (BOS) 09. Aubrey getting by doing the bare minimum. 10. Classic drunk Chris wanting McDonald's.11. How cheap (scrubby) everybody has been, not being able to find a measly ten bucks to pay for an NAFHL trophy or create a money league for twenty bucks on the year. This one's embarrassing. 12. The trading of keeper slots being eliminated and the horrible realization by the lower tier teams not having as much bargaining power to improve, having to keep some trash you could have in the 7th round of the Waiver Draft. 13. -The day Nos didn't have something retarded to say about everything (oh wait, that never happened)
-Nos constantly bragging about how awesome he is at "fantasy". Lord knows he must suck hard at real life.
-Nos finding out that he is actually Derrick's love child from the 70's
-Nos posing as his brother so that he can play in NAFHLDL.

I figured since none of you were buying it the first time around, that I would let this thread stew for a couple days to see what happened. As anticipated, I received PM's expressing concern that this wasn't an April Fool's Day joke. In my mind, that is a win. As for favorite NAFHL moments, no thread would be complete without referencing "any Chris - Jets/Phil - Blue Jackets argument (especially the Luongo Trade) and Ed - Jets (in any fashion). In addition to these moments, let us bow our heads in a moment of silence for our fallen comrades. Steve - Blue Jackets, Krzysztof - Sabres, Jesse - Sabres, Clarky - Maple Leafs, Hannu - Ducks, Jason - Wild, Paul - Penguins, Ben - Avalanche, Harrison - Canucks, Andrew - Maple Leafs. 02. I beat you in cumulative H2H scoring, ROTO scoring, and points only scoring. My fingerprints are all over that Championship, as evidenced by your 'BEST IN THE WORLD' stamp, my slogan, the slogan that clearly bugs the hell out of you. Hey pal, tying twice and 'winning' a half season doesn't make you the best in the world, no, it makes you a punchline. Winning the only 3 legit Championships in NAFHL history makes me the...
