Sunday would probably be the best for everybody, but I'm up for a change. We need to decide on a time, as well as a deadline for each pick. If we're going to do it during the week, better be in the evening I guess.

Pffft, this is hockey. Since when does Canada matter when it comes to hockey? If Gary Bettman has his way we won't need to worry about Canada interfering with hockey anymore.

The idea of having a live draft was entertained but never formally discussed. The plan going forward was that the Prospect Draft would follow the same suit as the previous NAFHL drafts; a message board draft allowing a maximum time limit of 12 hours per pick. Hmm, we'll say the draft starts at 12 pm (noon) EST on July 1st. If you can not make your "time slot" or think you wont be able to make it to a computer PM me your pick and i will make your selection for you.

Can this be like the NFL draft where even if I know who I'm going to pick, I'll wait until the very last second before posting? If each person waits until 11 hours and 59 minutes has passed before making a selection, then we could be professional just like the NFL!

At the very least, the first couple of picks in the draft are going to be selected by us Americans, so I don't think Sunday should be a problem for those of us at the top of the draft order.

With the prospect draft, I really don't see this being an issue. With the waiver draft, your decisions will have a more significant effect but with the prospect draft people should be making their picks as quickly as possible.

Anyways, I guess technically if the rule is 12 hours and you skip them on the minute, it's fair...personally, I'd even let it cut into my own time on purpose to give someone else a chance to make their pick..but to me, I hate when people gets skipped over just messes up the draft, and I wouldn't want to be the asshole that screws them over.

The only person screwing the hypothetical person is the hypothetical person. 12 hours is more than enough time to make a pick. And, if this hypothetical person can not make his pick, we have a trusty dusty commisioner to make the selection he is provided with. He slices. He dices. He'll even make your draft selection. Now if we could get his ass in gear on this new site. Of course to ensure that the HP gets a player he wants, a list of around three prospects would be best in case his primary choice(s) is/are taken. ...and yes, the NFL owns face.

I agree that 12 hrs is enough time for the most part, but some time shit comes up. I'm just saying, if someone is good about picking then suddenly runs out of time, I'm not going out of my way to skip them. I'll give them a chance. I hate when picks aren't made in order.

True. I think it was in this league that when we had our inaugural draft, I ended up going out of town (where I didn't have internet access) for a day or two that happened to coincide with my draft slot. I ended up falling like 4 picks and losing out on the guy I originally wanted to take. It was annoying, but I lived with it.
At least for the prospect draft you don't have to worry about me, I have 3 guys I like and I know I'll end up getting 2 of them. So take all the time you need for the #2 pick, Jesse.
