Hey Guys,
I wanted to announce I'm leaving the league. It's been a great ride and feel fortunate to be able to walk away with one championship under my belt. Work and personal relationships have just gotten too busy for me to focus on being an active member of this league. Sadly, my heart isn't in it anymore. I wish the best of luck to everyone in the league and can only hope my successor continues the rich tradition of a winning Boston team.

Sucks to see you go man, an original manager leaving is a big deal, there's only a few of those left. It also sucks to think I'll probably never see, or talk to you again, after almost a decade of interaction and contact, it gets you thinking. Wishing you the best on your future travels, if you're not into it you're not into it and the franchise deserves somebody who really wants it.

At 11:25 PM on May 3rd, 2006 I made my very first trade in the history of NAFHL. It was with the Boston Bruins. On April 6th, 2007 the Boston Bruins became the only other team in the league still to this day to win a championship besides Ottawa or San Jose. And on June 1st, 2008 the rulebook had to be amended for the first time to include a rule specifically designed and named for a member of the league (see: Shadymark Clause). Such a storied past for a storied franchise. In a world full of firsts, it seemed as though these times would never end.
But on August 21st, 2014 at 8:48 AM, the fabric of the league would seemingly be shifted again. This time it would not be in a way any of us would look back upon fondly. I received a PM from Mark informing me that he could no longer participate in the league due to personal reasons. I was shocked to say the least. But sometimes real life interferes with fantasy sports and one must do what one has to do and I respect him for that. Not only has it been a pleasure to call Mark a fellow GM from the beginning but it has been even more of a pleasure to call him a friend. So just as I made my first trade with the Bruins, I must now make my last. Mark for a replacement GM.
I want to personally thank you for the 8 great years of service and dedication you have given this league and each and every member of it over the years. After all, the league is only as good as the GM's it is made up of, and as an original member you have been a big part of this league's success. Your sarcasm and quick wit will be missed. As a fellow GM, commissioner, and most importantly as a friend I wish you the best wherever the road ahead might take you. Should you decide you want to return to fantasy hockey you will always have a place here in NAFHL. Good Luck and don't stop...be-liev-ing.

Well said Derrick. Mark is also leaving a very good young team behind and whoever takes that team over has a really competitive team for years to come. The team has studs in every position, from goaltenders to centers and that's something that's not very easy to accomplish in this league. Not to mention he also has one of the strongest farm systems in the league. Great job Mark!
