I didnt know what order they would go, but i had all the D going first...next, cue the RW's. I was spot on for the first 3 picks... ....figured Bouwmeester to Montreal all things considered though.
also, if you dont think youll be around at a given time, feel free to PM me your picks so that i can make your selction to avoid any prolonged delay.

Agreed on all accounts. I personally thought McCabe was the best defenseman available and wasn't surprised to see him go #3. I was very tempted to grab a RW, but I was deep enough at that position and I couldn't pass up Bouwmeester.

Had you passed on Bouwmeester he would have been gobbled up at 6....i thought he would have lasted to me

I thought it was a good pick, I was considering him and Ryder and you made my choice a little easier.

I think there hasn't been really any bad picks so far. However, the most surprising pick was probably Viktor Kozlov going at #9. I was expecting Sullivan to be the first forward taken.

Very, Very Nice Pick. I didn't realize he was still out there, and he shouldn't have been. He'll probably be playing LW on one of the top 2 lines.

Question about the FA frenzy, if you have 19 and 19 how does signing work? Do you have to make room before you sign a player? Or can you sign and go over the limit? If so, how many players can you sign?

I think the FA frenzy is done on yahoo. So if you're at 19, you'd have to drop one.

It's interesting to look over the old drafts. I wonder how many waiver draftees will be keepers this year.

If you ignore his injury, Rafalski was probably the best defenseman taken in the draft. The best value defenseman that was drafted was probably Ed Jovanovski, who was taken in the 7th round and is now 7th best scoring defenseman or the undrafted Mark Streit, who is tied for 5th in league scoring among defensemen.

I know, too bad I didn't hang onto Jovo, damn my drafting skills are hot. Oh and... Campbell > Rafalski Especially if we're looking at keeper value (I assume both will be kept, Campbell for sure ).

With the 79th pick in the 7th round of the draft, the Ottawa Senators select Nicklas Lidstrom, D, Detroit Red Wings.
