Instead of creating a new thread for every announcement I have decided to start a centralized threads for all announcements, so check here for pertinent information.
With that said, the Yahoo league is now up and running and the draft results have been submitted. Take time to look over your roster to make sure everything is correct. A couple things to note: Colorado Avalanche only have 17/19 roster spots filled, and as of right now Calgary Flames only have 18/19 roster spots filled because Jose Theodore is not in the Yahoo Database.
Also, there are several new faces joining the NAFHL family this season, but I believe them to be positive additions that will only make the league stronger. All you veterans out there do your bests to help them out and make them feel welcome.
Furthermore, I want to thank everyone for another successful off-season. It has helped further the league to what I believe will be the most competitive and exciting season yet. I am excited for the upcoming season, as I assume all of you are too. So kick back, relax, get everything fine tuned, and enjoy these couple weeks "vacation" while you can.

Each GM should be receiving an email with a randomly generated Waiver Priority list. This will be the order that we start out with for this upcoming season.

Krzysztof will no longer be the GM of the Anaheim Ducks, effective immediately. All GM duties will be handled by the NAFHL front office until a suitable replacement is found.

Well that rots. I'm surprised he wanted to leave. He was one of my favorite GM's, prompt replies to inquiries, pleasant to talk to, generally knowledgeable. I know his team is in the gutter but he has some solid pieces in place to build with and that team could be a playoff team as soon as next season. Sucks to see you go man.

Now that I look into this, he wasn't setting his lines and did have a ridiculous amount of goalies...that's not helping his case. Could be seen as intentionally tanking I guess. Derr, you cut him loose didn't you?

Derr, you cut him loose didn't you? I did no such thing. I was actually surprised to see him go. If you want further details you can PM him privately for his reasons, whereas he will still be around in limited fashion until a replacement GM is found. However, NAFHL brass will be controlling all Anaheim front office issues/roster moves in the mean time. But you are right, lack of beneficial roster moves, coupled with not setting lines, etc. did play a part in the decision.

...as did time. I really did enjoy my time here but in reality, I do not think I have the ability to be the best possible GM. I appreicate the opportunity to share this time with you guys and I wish you all the best.

Just a quick reminder.
Per Section 9 of the NAFHL Rulebook: B) During the playoffs, no trading or Free Agent signing is allowed. Only players from a manager’s farm team may be moved to and from each respective roster given a spot is available.
So make sure you are happy with the composition of your team before the playoffs start on 3/21.

First and foremost, let us congratulate the San Jose Sharks on one of the single greatest weekly performances in history en route to its 2nd NAFHL championship in 5 years (ending my 3-peat championship bid).
With that said, every season must come to an end, and as much as it collectively saddens us as fantasy GM's, the ending of the fantasy season means the beginning of the real life playoffs. It also means the beginning of our fantasy off-season. This, of course, means lots of fun (drafting) and lots of possible rule modifications.
One of the first rule modifications I will be proposing is the elimination of trading keeper slots.
In a constant effort to promote league parity, this seems to be the most logical next step. Although I am an avid supporter of "free market" and limiting restrictions, I find myself torn between the two concepts (parity/limited restrictions) in this instance. However, I feel as though taking the step of eliminating trading keeper slots will go a long way, both long and short term in making this league stronger and more unified in the name of parity.
The poll concerning this issue is now posted.

Thanks, my first congratulations! I know it must be a hard pill to swallow, you had a great team, and I appreciate your 'post series handshake'. ;D Looking forward to the real life playoffs, the off-season and of course next season. I have a little something planned as a mini celebration but it's not done yet.

2011-2012 rosters have been added for those managers who have submitted keepers thus far. In addition the 2011-2012 Available Players listed has been started (in progress) for those looking to get a head start on Waiver Draft planning.
However, prospect/minor leaguer ages/games played have not yet been updated but will be done so as soon as all keepers are submitted so keep this in mind when browsing team pages.

The first ever NAFHL Prospect Draft has been posted. The order was randomized using fftoolbox.com. Every manager should had received an email confirming this order/information.
The draft will (tentatively) start at 12:00 PM EST on Saturday, June 18th, 2011. Each GM will have 3 (not for trade) picks in a serpentine style draft. Each GM will have 12 hours to make a selection before being skipped. Any skipped pick may be made up at any time. Please make the necessary roster transactions to accommodate any draft selection made, prior to drafting a player. If you wish to skip your selection, simply make a post stating "Pass."
Remember, only players with 10 NHL games played or less (not from the current year's draft class) are eligible to be drafted in the Prospect Draft. At the conclusion of the draft, open prospect signing (10 NHL GP or less) will resume as normal.
Happy Drafting.

I still have some issues with the draft but it's good to see things progressing.
01. Why can't picks be traded? 02. Why only 10 games played? Entry Draft is for Entry players only right? Where do the other prospects get drafted? Waiver Draft? 03. Open prospect signing commences at the conclusion of the draft. This gives the last team to draft (this time Boston) an advantage knowing when the draft will conclude.
It's better to have it this way than not but it can be improved I think.

Picks can't be traded because not every team participates in prospect free agent signing. Therefore the picks would be worthless/overvalued/undervalued, and generally just a tool to make Top 6 teams stronger (as are waiver/entry draft picks). 2. I don't have a problem making it all prospects. 10 Games Played was just what was transferred over from the original rule that was previously in place. 3. Once the draft concludes, a specified time when open prospect signing begins will be announced.

Once the draft concludes, a specified time when open prospect signing begins will be announced. I can accept that. Maybe think about making these picks 'tradable' in 2012. This way managers would be aware of an impending Prospect Draft and would have a year to do their scouting and determine the worth of the picks. Pick trading is essential in Fantasy Hockey and emulates the real NHL in the best way, in my opinion. I think it would make the draft a little more interesting with more to choose from, it increases the value of the picks, I'm glad you're on board. Cool.
